Host Cory Greenberg speaks with Komal Shah, a former classroom teacher who stepped outside of the system to look at it with a microscope. She found a system built around a goal of external marketable success, rather than a student's inner fulfillment. They talk about how our institutions were actually built on the factory model, preparing our youth to assemble products or follow a scripted procedure, not to innovate and solve the problems of today's world. Now the drum beat of grades, test scores, acceptance to top colleges is squashing our kids' love and thirst for learning. What the heck do we do about it?
